Porcelanosa Taipei tells us all about its project building two luxury apartments in Taiwan in collaboration with architecture studio HOCHU Space. The interior design studio and Porcelanosa partner have been working together for years, building a relationship founded on mutual trust.
How did HOCHU Space collaborate with Porcelanosa Taipei to carry out this great project? Had they previously collaborated?
HOCHU Space is good partners with us for many years. When they need something out of the ordinary, we are here for them. We not only provide the materials they want, but also help solve the onsite difficulties, such as installation, layout, etc. We always work in the selection of materials with our partners and clients. To let them know the current European trends related to their designs. Regarding the technical part, we also work together to evaluate the feasibility of each project. The core concept between us is trust.
URBATEK XTONE is the star material of the project. What did you find most interesting about this large format?
The most outstanding part of these luxury house is to use novelty materials from Urbatek. Large format porcelain tile can completely express the marble texture without the disadvantage of natural stone. A spectacular result can be achieved, and a smooth, glossy surface won’t be affected by either sun exposure or humid weather.
From a design point of view, the houses are sober and imposing, but each houses subtle differences. One of them seems somewhat more intimate and masculine with darker tones. The other incorporates wood finishes and more luminous details such as the floor …
We designed the house each our client’s character, one client is young families, they hope the house with modern style and the other client is maturer. The great point of two house is large french windows, we can connect our design with outside view in garden.
